Our national project experience encompasses a broad spectrum of architectural and planning activities, including residential, commercial, retail, institutional, industrial, preservation and public infrastructure assignments. Scott Sonoc AIA

Experience
Scott Sonoc AIA, architect, designer and planner, is a founding and managing principal of Sonoc Architects and Associates Inc.. His work encompasses a broad range of projects within residential, commercial, institutional, planning, industrial and urban design settings.

With more than 25 years of professional experience, spanning architecture, urban planning and design, Sonoc has worked for the City of Chicago, Murphy/Jahn Inc. and Solomon Cordwell Buenz & Associates Inc. before founding Sonoc Architects. His planning and design work, all of which involves the heightened aesthetic awareness of architecture, has received attention from a wide range of local and national media, including Crain's Chicago Business, Chicago Tribune, Metropolis Magazine and Architectural Record. Many of his plans and designs have also been included in Chicago area exhibitions and have captured honor awards from the Chicago Building Congress, Friends of the Parks and the Bright New City Committee.

Background
Sonoc was one of ten U.S. recipients of the Champion International "National Imagination Award" in 1976 while he was studying at the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Design from IIT, with honors and subsequently earned a Master's Degree in Architecture at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
